About our Teachers
Sandy - Reading Rockets Founder Sandy has a Bachelor of Science (Honours in Psychology) and Graduate Diploma in Primary Education and is a fully qualified Primary Teacher with current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration. She has taught in several Primary Schools in Melbourne, while also having experience teaching at the secondary level and teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) both in Melbourne and overseas in Japan and China as well. She was honoured to be nominated for a National Excellence in Teaching Award (NEITA) as a Prep Teacher twice, and is passionate about fostering a love of learning from a young age. Sandy has three children and started Reading Rockets in Dingley in 2011 when her twins were 4 years old. She is super proud to have seen 15 years of kids enjoy Reading Rockets and support their transition to primary school. |
Jaci – Reading Rockets Dingley Jaci has a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Graduate Diploma of Education – Primary. As a fully qualified primary teacher she has taught for many years in local primary schools with more than 10 years experience teaching prep. Jaci is passionate about early education paving the way for success in literacy and numeracy. An avid collector of children’s literature, she loves nothing more than seeing the joy on children’s faces when sharing a story with them.

Amanda - Reading Rockets Mordialloc "With a lifelong passion for early childhood education, I am dedicated to helping young learners thrive during their most important developmental years. I hold a Bachelor of Primary Teaching and a Diploma of Children’s Services, and I bring over 20 years of experience in early years education to my work. I am especially passionate about school readiness and supporting children as they build the confidence, skills, and curiosity they need for a successful transition into primary school. As a mother of three, I bring valuable personal insight that enriches my practice and reinforces my commitment to delivering warm, meaningful and child-centred learning experiences that support children’s lifelong success."

Maureen - Reading Rockets Mornington Maureen has spent many years teaching primary and kindergarten aged children, both here in Australia and in Singapore. She is a very natural and talented teacher who is in her seventh year of managing and teaching the Mornington Reading Rockets' classes.
